Planned Bus Priorities on Washwood Heath Road – Cross City Bus Tickets, Tue 14 May 2024 at 18:00 | Eventbrite

Online event help on Tuesday 14th May 2024 at 6pm.

More information:

Later this year, HS2 Ltd are scheduled to close Aston Church Rd for 14 months of work to deliver a replacement bridge over the HS2 route and the existing railway. This work will be followed in 2025 by the closure of Saltley Viaduct over the same routes. Both works are anticipated to cause an increase in traffic on Washwood Heath Road.

To ensure that reliable bus services are maintained for East Birmingham residents, we will be introducing bus priority measures on Washwood Heath Road from Drews Lane to Membury Road in advance of the HS2 works starting. These measures will support the smooth running of the 94, 95 and 14 bus services.

This project will improve bus infrastructure to make it easier to travel across the region. These include bus priority measures, junction upgrades and enhanced waiting facilities for bus passengers. The project has received funding from the Department for Transport.

This event will be a chance to learn more about the proposed changes and ask questions of the transport delivery team.

We will be starting with a presentation at 6pm, followed by questions. The session may be finish early if all questions are answered.

If you have any queries in advance of the webinar, please email Questions@wmca.org.uk

The event will be held on Microsoft teams and a link will be sent out after you've signed up to attend.
